"ARENA TO TRAIL" CAMP The afternoon camps takes place after school hours and teaches fundamentals of horsemanship, horse care, and riding. Riders will learn basic control in leading and riding horses and will include obstacles and arena patterns. Participants will learn about responsibility and respect for others, teamwork, and can expect to gain self confidence and riding skills applicable to various disciplines and trail riding. We are planning to offer full day camps and will announce the dates as soon as the info becomes available.
The beginner group from our October arena-to-trail camp enjoyed venturing out into the National Forest after mastering safe riding practices in the arena. Skills that prepared our riders for the trail included walk-halt and walk-trot transitions, steering and arena patterns, obstacles, games, and emergency riding procedures.
